A report on the Holidays Activities at GHOC Center

In view of the long holidays this year, GHOC organized fun holiday activities for children.
These activities where all specifically chosen with the main aim of sparking the child’s creativity, discovering their unique talent and empowering them positively.

The kids where presented with various sets of well thought out programs for their various interest.
This was planned and organized by a team of boisterous volunteers who brainstormed long and hard to creat a well rounded itinerary for the kids. Some of these activities were drawing, painting and calligraphy

Board games such at monopoly, scrabble and chess were use to teach them strategy, discipline and foresightedness.
There were a variety of word games introduced to pick the child’s young mind and enable them in sound and word building as well as spelling
The kids got to make new friends from varied backgrounds, this gave them the opportunity to build their social skills.
This also led to the convergence of both French speaking and English speaking children which granted them the opportunity to increase their vocabulary in their second languages.
They also took part in out door activities such as foot ball hide and seek and a host of other physical activities.
The point of this was to occupy the kids during the long holiday period with fun, adventurous and creative actives do as to enable a balance growth in body, mind and spirit .
These mind blowing activities all costed 3000frs a month, however it was completely free for GHOC Children .
The aim was to make it a win -win situation ; affordable for every parent and also to use the proceeds gotten to finance the education of GHOC’s vulnerable children.
On Saturday 31 of July 2021, these amazing holiday program came to an end much to the chagrin of the kids and the active volunteers.
